The African Diaspora is already divided by misguided anger towards each other, which should be directed to our oppressors and the systems in place to disrupt unity in our community. One of the main points of the shoot is to capture the unity within the diaspora in New York City. Also exploring how Black immigrants in the U.S. also find refuge in the welcoming African American culture of the city, despite occasional non-acceptance between the groups. Most importantly, showcasing the embracement of African, Caribbean, Latin, and Hispanic heritage.
